WordPress depends on the Database for almost everything. All the values your enter, all your content, everything that goes to make your blog is actually stored in a Database, mostly MySql. It is very much possible to use a Database connectivity frontend, typically provided by your hosting service, but it requires somebody with technical talent to make that happen. Instead, why not try and use a tool from within your WordPress to make this happen.
Well, there is a WordPress Plugin that can make this happen, and it is called WP-DBManager 2.50 (available at this link)

Manages your WordPress database. Allows you to optimize database, repair database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database , drop/empty tables and run selected queries. Supports automatic scheduling of backing up and optimizing of database.

Go, ahead, and take control of the DB. Remember, for a WordPress site, the Database communication can make or break a site in terms of performance, so you should understand more about how your Database connectivity works.

For a lot of users who have Adsense accounts and started dreaming of making big money, there are a fraction of them who see their dreams get smashed when they suddenly get a notification that their Adsense accounts have been disabled because of some sort of inappropriate behavior, either in terms of the site, or in terms of around the ads themselves. When this happens to people, they can’t believe that their activities were detected by Google, or that Google would bother with individuals.
However, there are a few tips you should keep in mind. Google Adsense program has a list of Program Policies available at this page and you should read this page. These policies control how ads should be placed, who should click ads (you should never click ads yourselves, or encourage people to click on Ads). Google (and other advertisers) have click fraud as one of their high priorities, and determining and removing people who indulge in click fraud is one of their top priorities.
Now, for whatever reason, your Adsense account has been disabled, and you are struggling to determine the reason, next steps, and what you can do to convince Google that you are innocent.

First item, read the Disabled account FAQ (available at this page). Remember, if you are looking for Google to provide you with a lot of information about why your account was disabled, which specific clicks, etc, then you will have to wait for a long time. Google does not provide any help in terms of detailed information, it is for you to convince them that you have a genuine account, and have not committed any wrong doing.
Some of the queries answered on this page are:
Why was my account disabled? Can you tell me more about the invalid click activity you detected?
Can my account be reinstated after being disabled for invalid click activity?
My account was disabled and my appeal was denied. Is there any way I can rejoin the program? Can I open a new account?
My account was disabled for being related to another disabled account. Can you tell me more about this relation?
Will I still be paid out for my AdSense earnings?

If your account has been disabled due to Invalid activity, then please go to this form:
Invalid Activity Appeal (link)

Read more before appealing, since that helps you present your information in a more convincing way. For example, refer to this article (link)

Finally, do refer to this FAQ on invalid clicks, and remember, Google takes invalid clicks very seriously.

When Google started with Adsense, it allowed users to have a non-Gmail account with a separate password; it was only later that Google started linking everything to a Gmail account and password. For people, it can be a bit confusing as to what they need to do if they are unable to access their Adsense account because the password does not seem to work. There are others who prefer to change their password on a regular basis to keep it secure.

How do you change your password from within Adsense ?

1. Log in to your account at https://www.google.com/adsense
2. Click the Login Information [edit] link
3. Enter your current and new passwords in the fields provided
4. Click Save Settings to update your password, or Cancel to return to the previous page without saving.

If you want to reset your Adsense account and currently don’t remember your account password, or the one that you have does not seem to work, then you should go to this url:

https://www.google.com/adsense/assistlogin

If you have more queries regarding to Adsense, then you should go to this Google Adsense help page:

In the last post, I mentioned as to how I was running into problems with my hosting service regarding some of my blogs having performance issues, and hence being shut down by Hostmonster as causing unacceptable risks to their hosting servers. Since these were standard WordPress Blogs, I was flummoxed as to what to do. Plus, Hostmonster support could send me some traces of the calls that were causing performance problems, and they did so, but I recognized that they would not be able to offer me comprehensive advice that could provide me solutions. I was actually in a bit of panic for some time. However, soon, rationality prevailed, and I decided to do some research as to what could be the reason for these performance issues, and use the good old Google search engine to find possible solutions.
First, the traces provided by the support staff pointed to one specific blog, and more specifically to something to do with the Comments table. I read a lot on the net as to what could be done to improve the performance, and got a lot of leads, some of which I will publish in subsequent posts. This post is geared towards 2 steps that I took that helped the problem to a large degree, and because of which, I did not see the problem again.
So what were the actions that I took ? First of all, I got in touch with Hostmonster support and convinced them to enable my access so that I could make some changes to my account. They were pretty cooperative in this process, and gave me access. Next steps:
1. I used to leave my WordPress blogs with older versions running, and not upgrade very often. However, reading of many WordPress optimization techniques convinced me that frequent updates is the way to go, since a newer version contains fixes that typically includes fixes for performance issues.
2. Next step was to make sure that the Akismet spam table is emptied often. I used to leave spam unattended, not emptying the spam table often. One of my blogs (the problem blog) would generate upwards of 500 spam comments per day, and at one time, I would have upto 20,000 spam comments in the table. I used to depend on the time dependent deletion of spam comments, but no longer. Now I delete the spam comments every few days, never leaving many of them in the spam comments table.

Next post will carry some additional optimization techniques.
