Creating a blog using WordPress
You can create blogs on WordPress.com, but WordPress.com does not allow you to place ads, hence it is easier to actually use the WordPress platform to create your own site. How do you go about doing it ?
I used a fairly easy method to create my own site using WordPress, using the following steps:
1. Selected a Host. If you do a Google search, you can find a number of hosting providers who are reliable and who have been rated as being excellent hosting providers
2. I selected a host called HostMonster.com and host a couple of blogs over there, and am pretty much satisfied. You of course can select your own host based on research.
3. Once you have selected a host, you need to get the domain name that you want. It can get pretty hard to get the exact domain name that you want, so you may need to try out a few combinations.
4. Use your hosting providers service to book the domain name, it makes more sense and is easier logistically.
5. Once you have the domain name and a hosting package that provides you with with some database connections, you are set to go.
6. Most hosting providers already have popular tools such as WordPress ready for you, all you need to do is to login and select to install WordPress and provide the default directory where you want to install WordPress.
7. Do this, and you are ready do go. You can check it out by using the domain name that you have taken, and you will be shown a page with the WordPress installation.
